NQ Ajax Framework

JackBe Markup Language

The JBML, or JackBe Markup Language, is an XML-based language for the specification of projects and forms. A JBML file, or set of files, is used to hold the information relevant to a project and the forms it comprises. JackBuilder, being the primary tool for project and form manipulation, is also the main producer of JBML files. JBML provides the following capabilities to the NQ Ajax Framework:

  • Declarative expression of UI using XML
  • Extensible using hooks to allow complex behavior and dynamic UI construction not expressible in a declarative manner
  • Ability to link / load resource files including resource bundles, CSS, JavaScript behaviors, and others

JBML Example

The JBML code sample below illustrates the syntax and typical use of the JBML declarative programming language.
